High resolution, multi-angle surround view cameras

You will now see these surround view cameras in more mainstream sedans and family SUVs rather than just luxury vehicles. These cameras help with visibility outside of the vehicle to minimise blind spots and to help with parking or as another great feature, they can also be used inside to keep an eye on back seat passengers.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
Back again for 2019, but features are improving to make it easier to connect your smartphone with the infotainment screen in vehicles. More vehicles are taking on these applications and some even have wireless connection.

Wireless Charging
Another great smartphone technology feature, wireless charging. No need for all those charging cords now with charging pads added to some makes including Honda, Hyundai, Ford and Toyota!

Vehicle Control Via an App
Now you can even control your vehicle from your smartphone! Beep your horn, flash your lights and even start your car using your smartphone even when you’re not in the vehicle.

Steering Avoidance

We are moving closer to fully-automated features in vehicles and this new feature is edging closer to autonomous driving. New steering avoidance systems are able to automatically swerve to miss obstructions on the road or keep your car centred in the lane.

Digital Gauges
Out with the physical gauges and in with the new dynamic screen to share information, behaviour and performances from your vehicle. These include fuel efficiency and even navigation directions.

Road Scanning

Some luxury makes have included road scanning cameras into their vehicles to adjust the suspension to account for imperfections in the road. This feature makes for a smoother and quieter drive.

Semi-Autonomous Driving
Semi-autonomous driving features that compensate for human error are becoming more common in vehicles. The most noteworthy development in this area is Cadillac’s Super Cruise system, which can pilot the vehicle at speeds of zero to 100km/h, allowing the driver to take their hands off the wheel. Tesla and other automakers have their own versions of this technology, and more automakers are expected to introduce their own versions in the very near future.
