A year in review – Manheim gives back in 2018!

December 18, 2018

Corporate Social Responsibility, or as most know it as CSR, has been a top priority for Manheim in 2018 so we want to share with you what we have achieved!

Long term charity partner Kids Under Cover has an ongoing relationship with Manheim. For 2018 we supported the annual Cubby House challenge, read more here. As we reach the end of the year, Manheim has assisted Kids Under Cover in raising over $9 million through the Donate Your Car program since we started in 2006.

March was a big month for CSR with our No Excuses campaign where our staff were encouraged to use their one paid day off a year to volunteer. Our Marketing team contributed by donating blood to the Red Cross and we heard from team members who use their spare time to volunteer for local sporting clubs or kids schooling boards.

Manheim locations and other businesses under our CAA umbrella contributed to the Cancer Council by hosting the Biggest Morning Tea in May, which resulted in a $2000 donation!

Our annual Drive Away Hunger event occurred in June. Our annual campaign aims to assist local foodbanks by donating much needed food. As a result for 2018, we donated over 1,200kg of food, which equates to nearly 2,400 meals. To read more about our Drive Away Hunger effort, please click here.

Footy Colours Day is a great time for our team members to support their sporting team by wearing the colours and raise money for Fight Cancer! This year our Melbourne site raised over $260.  Jeans for Genes was another good opportunity for team members to dress up while raising money for The Children’s Medical Research Institute.

For 2018, Cox Automotive AU/NZ (including Manheim, Autotrader, Dealer Solutions and CarsGuide came together to take 10,000 steps a day in a bid to raise money and awareness for cerebral palsy.

As a whole we walked a total of 30,036,054 steps or 22,887km – that is like walking from Perth to Hawaii and back! In total, we raised over $4,500 for the charity.

Finally, for the month of October, a few of our sites organised to participate in Pink month. During this time we raised much needed funds for breast cancer with morning tea and merchandise selling well over $2000!

As you can see 2018 was a big year for us and we can’t wait to continue to give back in 2019! Stay tuned.
