Teaming up with local food banks – Manheim gives back!

September 4, 2018

Drive Away Hunger was back again at Manheim for the third consecutive year!

A Cox Automotive global campaign, Drive Away Hunger is an initiative aimed to support local food banks in a bid to help world hunger.

Along with the other Cox Automotive Australia brands, Manheim donated all collected food to local food banks around Australia and New Zealand! But, before we handed over the food, there was a bit of fun to be had with our ‘CANstruction’ event where teams use the donated food to build sculptures.

Team Perth was crowned our Manheim winner for 2018 with their shopping trolley and Sydney’s meat pie was named our ‘People’s Choice’ winner with the most votes amongst team members.

Across the 12 days, Cox Automotive Australia collected 1,257kg of food, which provided over 2,500 meals to those in need! Globally, Cox Automotive donated an incredible 69,000kg of food.

Supporting our local community is a value we as a company take very seriously. We encourage our team members to volunteer and help out as much as possible.

Throughout the year we also take part in events such as Genes for Jeans day, Footy Colours Day and many more! In the month of September, many team members in the business are participating in Steptember, Run by Cerebral Palsy Alliance, the Steptember charity event challenges people to take 10,000 steps a day for 28 days straight to create money and awareness for Cerebral Palsy.

Wish us luck!
