The Prestige Night Auction is a quarterly event at Manheim, offering the public an option to buy a range of luxury cars for a great price.
Over the years we have offered some incredible cars including a few Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s, but what do you think is the most popular prestige model at auction? Is it the star car or the luxurious family car?
Well, our experienced team at Manheim have looked at the numbers and are here to tell you what the best buys are at auction.
Most popular brand
Germany is known as a maker of great prestige cars, and the results at auction definitely backs up this statement. Out of the top five most purchased cars at the Prestige Auction, four of the five were German automotive manufacturers.
So who made it to the top?
- BMW
- Mercedes-Benz
- Audi
- Land Rover
- Porsche
Most popular model
It will probably be no surprise when we tell you that the BMW also took out the most popular model sold at auction. The BMW 3 Series stood out as a favourite in our buyer’s eyes.
Most expensive vehicles
Our Prestige Auction star cars may not be the most bought throughout our auction campaigns, but they have definitely made a massive impact.
Italian produced cars have made a huge impression on our buyers with two of the top three made in Italy.
The most expensive Prestige Night Auction cars sold were:
- Ferrari F12 – selling at auction for $515,000
- Lamborghini Murcielago – another Italian made car selling for $377,000
- McLaren 650s – a UK built car selling at auction for $308,000
So it is safe to say the German’s have mastered the art of prestige vehicles that appeal to a huge range of our customers. But, when it comes to the highest prices, the Italian’s have proven to deliver.
Our next Prestige Night Auction will be on Thursday, May 17 where you can bid on a range of prestige models. Interested car buyers shouldn’t miss this chance to buy a prestige vehicle at a great price. - 2014 Porsche 911 (991) GT3 2D Coupé – a low 18,600km showing with carrara white exterior
- 2015 Mercedes-Benz Maybach S-Class X222 S600 4D – black exterior with a turbo engine
- 2015 BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe F36 435i M Sport 5D Coupé – a great prestige model offering great features
- 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL 500 2D – 2 door luxury vehicle with a diamond white exterior
The auction will commence at 6.30pm at Manheim, located at 144 Moorebank Avenue, Moorebank. Members of the public are welcome to inspect the vehicles during the weekdays leading up to the auction.
All vehicles are listed on the Manheim website, with detailed information, photographs and online catalogues available for viewing. Vehicles will also be available to purchase online with the auction ‘Simulcast’ live over the internet, allowing buyers to participate in the physical auction online.
